Boys' and Youths' Choir of Revutsky State Men's Choral
Society was formed in Kiev in 1989. During the years of its existence the
Choir has gained high prestige and has been acknowledged as one of the
best amateur choirs in Ukraine as well as abroad. The Choir became a Laureate
of the 2nd All-Ukrainian Choirs' Competition after N.Leontovich (1993)
and the Winner of International Festivals in the United Kingdom (1993)
and in the Hungary (1994). The Choir's Performance are of great success
in the U.S.A., England, Wales, France, Germany, Hungary, Poland. These
are solo concerts in the prestigious concert halls and temples, performance
during church services and creative meetings with well-known choirs.
The mastery of the Boys' Choir has been highlighted
by mass media of various countries. Among them are: BBC radio and TV, radio
and TV programs of the United States, Poland, radio "FREEDOM" and
others.
The Choir is a permanent participant of Ukrainian
radio and TV programs. Were produced 3 tapes and CD in Ukrainian Radio
Funds and were recorded more than 30 works of choir presentation. Choir's
achievements are highly valued by press.
The Choir's repertoire is wide and diverse, from folk songs to masses
and cantatas. The program of the Choir comprises the best samples of music
by the world and domestic classics composers, such us: G.F.Handel, J.S.Bach,
D.Bortnyansky, P.Chaikovsky and many others.
More then 100 boys and youths from 4 to 28
years old attend various sections of the Choir. The concert group consists
of 30 to 60 singers. The boys have an opportunity to master playing piano
and guitar.
AIDA ZAITSEVA (born in 1949) is the founder, leader
and the head conductor of Revutsky Boys' and Youths' Choir.
She graduated from St.Petersburg Conservatory and finished its post-graduate
course. Since 1982 Mrs. Zaitseva has become one of the leading conductors
of Ukraine. She was conferred the high rank of the Honored Artist of Ukraine
in 1994. Aida Zaitseva was distinguished with the Diploma "The Best Conductor"
at the International Children's Choir Festival in Hungary in 1994. Aida
Zaitseva is a creator of a number of arrangements for the Choir.
